Training as a second chance.
He Autonomous Body for Penitentiary Work and Employment Training (OATPFE), attached to Ministry of the Interior, has, among other responsibilities, the generation and coordination of different training actions that improve the employability and degree of integration of inmates. One of those actions is the Training program for high-risk food handlers for people deprived of liberty (2015).
We don't like to boast, but some 5,000 people had a second chance at their social reintegration thanks to this program that we put out to tender and developed.

In Spain there is a prison population of 65,017 people. A high percentage of them do not have formal training that would allow them to have good opportunities for job insertion. One of the many measures for the reintegration of prisoners is to Ministry of the Interior ha sido el Programa Operativo de “lucha contra la discriminación”.
